From twitter -> https://twitter.com/ProVitaFamigliaEnglish judge Robert Peel, the man who denied #IndiGregory's parents the right to transfer their daughter to Italy to be taken care of by the Bambino Gesù Hospital in Rome, sent this vile letter to the Italian Consul in Manchester, who had written to him to activate our jurisdiction over the case of the little victim after the granting of Italian citizenship.
"You may have heard that very sadly Indi Gregory has passed away... Her family is in my thoughts... I assume you do not wish to proceed with the request...".
Not only this person hai claimed the right to decide that the life of a defenseless and innocent human being should unquestionably end - "in his best interests" - despite conflicting medical opinions, but now he even allows himself the luxury of a hypocritical sadness imbued of cynical irony. There is nothing that endangers basic human rights more than a judge who believes he is God almighty.
Poche nostre considerazioni.
Qui il problema non è soltanto la cinicità disumana mostrata in uno scritto formale al limite di una ipocrisia "splatter" ma il sistema vero e proprio che con tracotanza patinata si erge a giudice sull'intoccabile "principio di Persona". Questo è a nostro avviso il dramma del sistema giuridico inglese, la cosificazione della Persona e la sua appropriazione da parte dello Stato senza osservare ciò che promette, cioè proprio il "suo miglior interesse".
Se il sistema cercasse realmente il miglior interesse avrebbe altri fondamenti di rispetto verso la Persona inguaribile ma curabile, verso la sua famiglia, verso le reali necessità relazionali e verso la verificabilità, realmente scientifica, di altri significativi pareri di carattere medico e bioetico.
Un sistema chiuso come l'attuale non è altro che un sistema fondamentalista con la parrucca e patinato ipocritamente dal "best interest".
The problem here is not just the inhuman cynicism displayed in a formal writing bordering on 'splatter' hypocrisy, but the actual system that with 'glossy hubris' stands as judge over the untouchable 'Person principle'. This is in our view the drama of the English legal system, the cosification of the Persona and its appropriation by the state without observing what it promises, namely precisely 'its best interests'.
If the system really sought the best interest it would have other foundations of respect for the incurable but curable Person, for his family, for his real relational needs, and for the verifiability, truly scientific, of other significant medical and bioethical opinions.
A closed system like the current one is nothing but a fundamentalist system in a wig and hypocritically patinated by the 'best interest'.
